Chemical Peel FAQ's
Your appointment will take roughly 30 minutes – quick and easy!
It starts with a skin cleanse and prep – this is where your practitioner will decide which specific VI Peel will target your skin concerns.
The skin is prepped with a special pre-peel solution, then the peel is applied in layers. The VI peel has a numbing agent IN the peel (yup!), so the treatment is very comfortable.
You’ll leave with the peel still on your skin, so will have a slight yellow tinge to your face. You’ll wash this off after four hours, leaving your skin slightly pink the rest of that day.
We recommend doing a series of 3-6 VI Peels depending on what you’re trying to treat. Usually you’d do one peel every 4 weeks.

The following day, your skin will feel tight and may start to peel that night, or the day after.
Here is an AVERAGE of what patients find as their peel schedule:
DAY 0: day of peel – pink & tight skin
DAY 1: skin tight, may start to peel around mouth
DAY 2: Peeling starting, medium to heavy peeling around mouth and lower face
DAY 3: Still peeling, starting to move to rest of face. Possible mild breakout as skin purges out impurities.
DAY 4: Peeling starting to settle, flaking around perimeter of face.
DAY 5: Flakiness continues, soft new skin emerging.
DAY 6: Glow starting to reveal itself, flakiness/peeling nearly done.
DAY 7-10: Skin looking fantastic, GLOW IS HERE!
You should not have the peel if any of the following apply:
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Aspirin Allergy
- Use of Isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past 6 months.
- Active cold sores, herpes, shingles, or dermatitis in or around the treatment area.
- Allergy to hydroquinone
- Immune disorders
- Phenol allergy
- Inflamed skin with open wounds in the treatment area.
- Severe liver conditions
- Chemotherapy or radiation in the past 6-12 months.
