Collagen stimulation is a slow and steady process. The first results will be noticeable within four to six weeks after your first treatment. Sculptra FAQ's
For injected Sculptra, topical numbing cream is applied to the full treatment area to ensure maximum comfort. We also mix Sculptra with lidocaine to give even MORE numbing power. The treatment itself involves a few injections to the areas and takes approximately 20 minutes.
Rule of thumb: One vial of Sculptra per decade of life. For instance, a 30-year old may need 3 vials of Sculptra, while a 50-year old may want to aim for 5. However, other factors (such as smoking or certain diseases) may limit your results or require more vials for the desired result.
We typically do 2-3 vials per session. So if you’re needing 5-6 vials, we may break this up over 2-3 treatments (4-6 weeks apart).
Then we generally have patients maintain with 1 treatment (of 1-2 vials) per year.
After a treatment of injected Sculptra, you will be a bit puffy/swollen (though usually people LOVE this because this is the area that we NEEDED volume!).
The swelling settles within 24-48 hours in most cases, and you will look the same as you did before your treatment.
Then the magic starts – the settled Sculptra acts like a ‘fertilizer for collagen’ and, over the period of 2-3 months, your body creates it’s own collagen in the treated area, leading to NATURAL volume restoration, rejuvenation, and anti-aging.
Other things to consider: you may experience bruising and redness to the injected areas, though our techniques here at The Luxe Room, tend to limit bruising.
Anyone pregnant/breastfeeding, has history of keloid scar formation, or anyone with an active illness or infection. We also caution patients to wait 2 weeks post dental treatments or vaccines before receiving their Sculptra treatments.
